In Loving Memory of Chad Cook

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Chad Herbert Cook on November 19, 2020. Chad was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed. Chad touched the lives of so many and this fundraiser is to help Chad's parents, Richard and Diana Cook,  in their time of need in order to pay tribute and honor the life of Chad Cook.

As his sister, I am trying to help  raise money to cover the costs of the funeral and memorial services for my parents, Richard and Diana Cook,  as this passing was completely unexpected.

The Cook Family appreciates any and all help.  As you can imagine, it is very difficult to ask for this kind of help and to post a fundraiser, but we would like to lay my brother to rest as soon as possible and to be able to honor him and pay tribute to him.

Details will follow for an official service that we are still trying to figure out how to provide so that all of you who loved him can pay your respects.

Any excess money will be donated to a shelter to care for and rescue animals, as all of you know this was Chad's greatest passion during his life.

Chad loved life, was never without an opinion and was never afraid to speak his mind.

Chad was an accomplished Chef and earned his degree in Italy. Chad was able to see a good part of Europe, living in Italy for 3 years making many lasting friendships.

When Chad returned from Europe he decided he did not like the lifestyle of working in kitchens and decided a simple life was more his style and was able to do his life long dream of rescuing dogs from shelters.

Chad would spend countless hours finding people to foster or adopt dogs directly from the shelters in which his parents of course ended up adopting 3 amazing rescue dogs; Tank, Sasha and Luis.

Chad enjoyed his many friends while working for the Antelope Valley Union High School District.

Chad's love of family, friends and all animals ran deep.

Chad is survived by his parents, Richard and Diana Cook, his sister (me) Holly Joan Cook, his longtime girlfriend Sofia, his Nana Joan Cox, his Aunts and Uncles, his many cousins and all of his friends who loved him so dearly.

Chad was a season ticket holder of the LA Dodgers and LA Kings which he took many of his friends to go see. Chad was pissed the pandemic took away this season of going to games, especially with the Dodgers win of the World Series.

We appreciate all the love and prayers sent our way.

If Chad had one last request he would ask all of you to donate or rescue an animal from a shelter.

My parents keep waiting for him to come home and  miss him so much. They are still in great shock and can’t believe he is not coming home anymore.

Please pray for our family and any help to help lay him to rest is greatly appreciated.

Please feel free to contact me, Holly Cook (Chad's sister), if you have any questions at: [phone redacted].
