In Loving Memory of Cassia Gracious Lind

With broken hearts and profound sorrow, we share the loss of our beloved Cassia Gracious Lind, who was called home to the Lord on June 20th, 2025, at just 7 years old.

Cassia was born in October 2017 with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), a rare and severe congenital heart condition. From the very beginning, Cassia displayed strength, resilience, and a radiant spirit that touched everyone who knew her. She bravely endured multiple open-heart surgeries, countless hospitalizations, and fought through every challenge with grace and courage.

Cassia is deeply missed by her devoted mother, Alejandra, who has lovingly cared for her full-time since birth. Cassia’s father, Jackson Lind, tragically passed away in March 2019, leaving Alejandra to walk this journey alone as both mother and caregiver. Despite the hardships, Alejandra gave everything to ensure Cassia was surrounded by love and joy every single day.

In time, God brought someone very special into their lives—Nicolas, lovingly known as “Papa Colas.” He became not only a loving partner to Alejandra, but the true father figure Cassia needed. To Cassia, he was never a stepdad—he was her papa. The one who stepped up, embraced her heart and soul, and loved her unconditionally. Their bond was unshakable.

But Cassia’s world was also wrapped in the love of her Welo and Wela—her grandparents—who were constants in her life. Her Welo was her heart. He helped raise her and was her safe place. Wherever he was, Cassia wanted to be. He was her world, and she was his. Her Wela loved and supported Cassia with unwavering devotion, always showing up with open arms, encouragement, and grace. Together, they were pillars of strength and joy, playing an enormous role in the life of this precious girl.

On June 2nd, 2025, Cassia underwent her final planned heart surgery, the Fontan procedure. Our little warrior fought with everything she had, but sadly, she passed peacefully just 18 days later.

In the midst of this unimaginable loss, Alejandra is now left not only grieving but also facing financial hardship. Years of full-time caregiving made it impossible for her to work, and the costs associated with Cassia’s care and now her funeral have placed an overwhelming burden on the family.
