It is with a heavy heart that we start this fund. On the night of May 21st there was a Tornado watch & a power outage in the Oliva’s neighborhood, the two younger girls turned some candles on & must have fallen asleep. With smoke & flames everywhere Mr. Oliva was able to wake up his son Toño & the girls. Toño, Ceci & Mr. Oliva where able to make it out of the house & tried helping Carolina, but the smoke & flames where to strong, making it impossible to help Carolina. “Nina” was only 16 years old when she passed with her beloved puppy Chico next to her. Nina, was a happy, energetic, smart, hard working, sporty, full of sass girl. She enjoyed spending time with her best friend, two older sisters Elis & Ana, her brother Toño & her little sister Cecilia, co-workers, family & friends. She was saving up for her first car & looking forward to a fun summer. The family had recently just lost Doña Rosa, their mother to pneumonia & where finding strength among their church, family & friends. As we know, no amount of money can make the Olivas-Gonzalez family feel better but we can try to give them some comfort & hope. Their home & belongings where a total loss. With this help we hope to find the family a home & the kids stability as they finish this school year. We pray the Family finds comfort in the love & support of those around them. We will always remember Carolina with her huge, contagious, perfect smile. We love you Nina!
