Carol June Shimek was the living embodiment of unbridled courage, joy, and love.  Her warmth and affection were felt by many; she was a mother to all who needed one.

We grieve her passing but rejoice in a life well lived.  In Carol's own words, "I will live until I die," she promised a legacy and reminder for us all to live life to the fullest, be brave in sharing ourselves, and love deeply, unconditionally, and with abandon. She kept this promise during her life and for all who knew her, undoubtedly, encouraged them to do the same.

We invite you to share your memories of Carol Shimek and condolences for her surviving family: life partner and husband Ben McNeil, her daughter Mary Elizabeth Sharma, son Robert William Shimek, her adopted daughters Shirley Jean Hall and Sherill Pelliccione, and her former husband and father of her children Ronald Wayne Shimek. She is predeceased by her brother Robert Wallace.
