Our sweet boy, Canelo, passed away suddenly on April 11, 2026 after being diagnosed with an aggressive cancer that caused severe internal bleeding on the same day. Just hours before, he was still walking, still loving life, still being himself.

We did everything we could. Emergency care, blood transfusions, but his body couldn’t overcome it. We had to make the hardest and most agonizing decision of our life to let him go peacefully, in my lap, in the warm sun (his favorite place.)

If you know us at all, Canelo was more than a dog. He was our constant, our comfort, our best friend, with four siblings who are now just as lost as us and wondering where he is. And I want his life to mean something beyond this pain. It must.

In his memory, I’m raising money to help other dogs and families facing sudden medical emergencies or cancer diagnoses. All funds will go directly toward veterinary care or organizations that support canine cancer treatment and research.

Even the smallest donation can help another dog get a chance.
