Sunday August 23rd, 2020 Caleb Hon, 17, was riding a four wheeler and lost control and crashed in the ditch, a couple miles north of his home in Smithville. Good samaritans stopped and tended to him in the ditch and called for help. He was transported to Children’s Mercy, via ambulance, with massive internal bleeding. Despite being in surgery over two hours, doctors were unable to stop the bleeding in his abdomen. He passed away in surgery. He was able to convey to those who tended to him at the accident site how much he loved his family and asked them to tell them so. His father, Ben, was able to bless him with holy water on his way into surgery and tell him he loved him and pray a Chaplet of Divine Mercy with him after he passed .
This is a fundraiser for Ben and Heather, to bury their son, and pay for any medical expenses. They wish to sincerely thank everyone for their prayers, condolences, and outpouring of love and support. May God richly reward you for your loving kindness to our dear friends, the Hons, during this most sorrowful time.
In Christ,
The Hansens
(Dear Friends of the Hons)
