Our hearts are broken as we share the loss of Bryson John Light, a 10-year-old fourth grader at Yorktown Elementary School who brought so much energy, kindness, and joy to everyone around him. Bryson loved football, especially cheering for the Washington Commanders, and he had recently started playing rec league football. He looked forward to every practice and truly loved being on the field. Bryson also loved being part of his neighborhood swim team, where he enjoyed spending time with his teammates and doing something he loved.
Bryson was full of life and adventure—you could often find him riding his bike up and down the streets of the neighborhood. He had such a caring heart and was always eager to help his neighbors, whether it was jumping in to help with yardwork or joining in while someone was cooking on the grill. Bryson was also the most loving big brother to his little sister and took her everywhere with him. He was deeply loved by his family, friends, and neighbors, and his absence leaves an unimaginable hole in all of our hearts.
During this incredibly difficult time, we are coming together to support Bryson’s family as they navigate this heartbreaking loss. Donations will help with funeral and memorial expenses, as well as provide support for the family during the difficult days ahead. If you feel led to donate, any support is deeply appreciated.
Bryson’s light, kindness, and joyful spirit will never be forgotten. While our hearts are broken, we hope to surround his family with the same love Bryson gave so freely to everyone around him. If you are able, please consider donating or sharing this page so we can come together as a community to support the Light family and honor Bryson’s beautiful life.
