In Loving Memory Of Brigida Tobias Moreno

We are grieving at the loss of Brigida Tobias Moreno. Loving Mother of 4, Wife, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and Friend to many. Brigida passed away on Saturday November 6th at 11:11 am.

She was incredibly loved and healing from this loss will seem impossible for many.

As many of you know Brigida had been battling serious health issues for the past year. She’s had diabetes for the past couple years and has tried to take back control over her life. In 2013 she started wearing a boot on her left foot because of the neuropathy pain was too severe to walk without it. Doctors disagreed on the exact reason but most of them led back to complications from diabetes. Back in 2016-2017 she started to lose her eyesight and was no longer able to drive. In 2018 we tried completely changing her diet and had several eye surgeries to help her get better and she regained some eyesight to where she was able to read again. In 2020 she got an infection in her leg from an open wound on the bottom of her left foot that she didn’t feel due to her diabetes. After poor treatment from a hospital and no way to stop the infection, in early 2021 she had to get her left foot amputated up the ankle. She was so scared but so strong after she got the surgery done. The months following she fought with all her strength to recover and learn to walk again, all without the help of any professionals. Back on August 2nd of this year, Brigida, went to the the hospital because she wasn't able to breathe. She was diagnosed with pneumonia and suffered a stroke while in the hospital. The stroke was moderate and left the right side of her body paralyzed and in need of a tracheotomy and feeding tube. She was sent to a rehab facility downtown for physical and occupational therapy. After only three days she went into cardiac arrest and was rushed back to the hospital. Brigida was unresponsive for 25 minutes before they were able to revive her. Her heart had stopped twice in this incident. She stayed at the hospital and we found out she had suffered more brain damage and seizure like activity to where her left side started twitching. After about two weeks she was transferred to a different rehab facility for the same reasons and again only lasted three days before she went into cardiac arrest for the second time. She was only down a short time and was rushed back to the hospital. After staying there she went to a different rehab facility where she’s been for three weeks and was recovering. She was doing very well with her therapy but unfortunately Brigida went into cardiac arrest again. It is with deeply saddened hearts we have to say, Brigida Tobias Moreno, did not make it this time. If you knew her, you know she had one of the biggest hearts and was always helping those she cared about. She’s offered her home, financial help, and food or even just an ear to vent if anyone needed it.
