In loving memory of Brian, our cherished friend, coworker, and a loving husband.

During his time at the DVA, Brian worked to elevate the beauty of our downtown, personally removing 2500lbs of rubbish in 2+ years and transforming our streets into a place we could all take pride in. His efforts weren't just about aesthetics; they were a reflection of his deep-rooted love for Vernon and its people.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Brian's heart beat for the open road. Alongside his beloved wife Pauline, he found adventure and joy riding their Harley Davidsons under the summer sun, and embarking on adventures in their converted van when the winter winds blew cold. Growing up amidst the rugged beauty of Newfoundland, Brian developed a profound connection to nature, spending his days by the ocean and eventually moving to northern Canada to be a cook in a camp for many years.

Brian’s tough exterior belied the remarkable depth of his kindness. Despite literally saving (two that we know of) lives, he shied away from recognition, preferring to let his deeds speak for themselves. Local media sought to tell his story, but Brian remained steadfast in his desire to serve quietly, without fanfare or acclaim.

As we mourn the loss of Brian, we stand together to support his beloved wife Pauline. The sudden departure of Brian has left a void in our hearts and an unexpected burden on his family.
