With a tremendous amount of heartache, we mourn the sudden loss of Brenda Suzanne Acheson (née Guild) of Calgary, AB. Loving wife to Norm, mother to Evan (Emily), Jesse (Sara), Nathan, and Luke, and grandmother to Frances. Older sister to Brian (Patti) Guild and Barry (Laurie) Guild and aunt to their families. Preceded in death by her parents, Earle and Betty Guild.
A teacher and storyteller, Brenda was gifted with words, clever, and emotionally expressive. She was lively, extroverted, and a woman of faith. Her presence and conversations with her family and friends were characterized by sincere interest, witty jokes, uproarious laughter, and affectionate teasing. Brenda leaves behind a remarkable family legacy: the strong, loving bond of her four boys, their deep affection for each other, and the relational harmony in the family is evidence of her and Norm's wise and loving parenting. Devoted and deeply caring about her family, Brenda was faithful through 37 years of marriage to Norm. Her presence in the world will be so deeply missed.

The family is grieving this loss while awaiting answers. We are searching for the funds needed to pay for the funeral, burial/cremation, and final resting place. Her family has started this GoFundMe to support Norm in covering the unforeseen costs of a funeral, taking time off work to grieve and make arrangements, and the many other expenses of grieving that often get overlooked. This will also allow the immediate and extended family to gather and grieve together. The family has selected Evan Acheson as treasurer of this fundraiser, to administer the payment of immediate funeral costs. Following the funeral, the remaining amount will be transferred to Norm.
