On the night of Wednesday May 31st, my beautiful 28 year old daughter, Breanna, was murdered in a senseless act of domestic violence. She was shot three times and left to die in the condo that I was renting. I recently found out that the family life insurance that I’ve been paying through my employer for over 20 years, ceased coverage after each child reached age 22. I did not expect this. So in addition to burial expenses, I am being held responsible for the aftermath of the shooting. The condo I rented is requiring that I pay for the damage to the large double paned windows that were shot out and replace the floor that was soaked in my daughter’s blood. The HOA and the owner of the condo is estimating over $60,000. The renters insurance I have in place denied my claim, and we don’t have the means to pay for it all. Breanna was a loving daughter and sister, a healer of lost souls, a staple in the community that positively impacted the lives of many with her support, kindness, love and humor. She was an artist, writer, poet and held free yoga classes that focused on healing traumas from the body, mind and spirit. She always encouraged self-love and was known for her generosity. She was a beautiful spirit. We have numerous notebooks filled with her poetry and short stories that she always wanted to publish, and we want to make that dream come true. Any and all help is appreciated. If you can, please donate and/or pass this along. Our family thanks you for your prayers, help and support during this trying time.
