In Loving Memory of Bobbie Jo Doughty
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Ashley & I am fundraising for my best friend Adriana, 27 who is raising her two sisters, Alysabeth, 17 and Ava Jo, 4.
—We want to use the donations for Bobbie’s celebration of life, getting Bobbie Jo an urn and the remaining funds would be for Adriana to help raise her sisters
** if you don’t feel comfortable donating to gofundme, please reach out to Adriana for her cash app info
They experienced at such a young age what we all fear. They had to say goodbye to their mother, Bobbie Jo, 43 one last time on March 4th, 2022, at 3:21 pm. They were with her at the hospital along with their aunt, Bobbie’s sister, Samantha, till Bobby took her last breath. I was with them that day for 5 hours and watched a family shatter into a million pieces. We all have our faults, and Bobby was not shy to share her challenging life. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2019 and was in and out of the hospital until she went in St. Lukes on Feb 24th. Bobbie Jo didn't want to worry anyone until the nurse told her the circumstances some days after she had been there.
I cannot fathom how those girls must feel. Alysabeth, lost her dad, Bobbie’s ex-husband, Benny, back in October of 2021. Benny also raised Adriana for most of her life and was a father to her. These two young girls are now carrying the weight of raising their sister Ava Jo. Alysabeth, we all call her bug, is still a young teen and is graduating High School early. I have never been so proud and honored to be Adriana's friend. What she has faced and endured is something I don't think anyone one of us can do. Adriana also has a 3-year-old son, Windell, who still has to put on a brave face every day. Thankfully she has her husband & best friend Derrick who is there for her, bug, & Ava Jo and their son. This family is strong!! I don't want the financial burden to be their focus. I want this family to grieve in peace. Romans 12:15 says, "Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep." Galatians 6:2 says, "Bear one another’s burdens, and so you will fulfill the law of Christ."
I wanted to create this GoFundMe to let them know that they are not alone in this horrific life-altering circumstance, for them to see that they have a community around them who love them and want to see them live their lives to the best of their abilities. If you cannot donate, maybe offer a home-cooked meal or a text or call acknowledging their loss and offer to spend a few hours with them. We all could do one thing to help this family, whether financially or donating time.
