In Loving Memory of Bill Kauffman

Dear Friends,

On Saturday morning, a bright light left us to shine on for even more to see. Our dear friend, Bill Kauffman, passed away suddenly, leaving a crushing silence where his beautiful voice once was.

Billiams friends, the volleyball community and Angel Community have been so amazingly supportive and overwhelming with love and requests on how to help. On behalf of Bill’s dad, his brother and incredibly strong friends, this fund is being created to help defer any upcoming costs and will be managed by June Sands. The most impactful thing the community can do right now is to contribute to ensuring that Bill has a funeral befitting of the kind and wonderful soul that he was. Generous in spirit, time and compassion, Bill would never ask for help for himself, but was always at the willing to lend his mind, body and heart to anyone who would need it.

The primary focus of this fundraiser is to first cover funeral expenses, travel expenses for his father coming down from Seattle, unanticipated expenses of readying Bill’s house with any additional funding earmarked to support Bill’s brother who is both blind and on dialysis. Small things to us, like travel expenses for his family when not anticipated, food while here and the myriad of legal expenses that are sure to follow are overwhelming when they add up. We know, for some, times are tough for folks, but if you are in a position to give, please consider doing so. Because, as Bill truly believed and lived, you were all so very worthy of his time and support…and now our Bill needs us now more than ever.

One would say that Bill lived a life of compassion and love that exceeded more than a thousand lifetimes. Bill’s legacy of love will be the memories he made with each of you and the amazing gifts of time and service that he bestowed on the universe. Bill was passionate and committed to ensure that everyone around him were supported in their dreams.
