Tribute to Elizabeth (Beth, Betty Ann) O’Carroll & Family
5/18/65 – 5/20/20
Have you ever sat outside and closed your eyes to feel the sun touch upon your face? Where an immediate sense of warmth and calm mixed with energizing motivation sweeps over you all at once? Beth had that way about her. She could change the energy in a room to a much more positive, honest one in no time at all. She was witty and smart and fun; compassionate, dedicated and giving.
Sadly, Beth passed away just 2 days after her 55th birthday while at Mass General Hospital where she was fighting so bravely against COVID-19. Despite endless prayers and silent pleas to God to let her recover and rejoin her devoted husband and loving son, her body grew tired and the fight was just too much. All of Beth’s friends and family hopes she too felt that warmth upon her face as she left this world knowing all the love and caring people who surrounded her held her in the highest regard.
Beth leaves behind her wonderful husband Mike and their 14 year old son, Jack whom she adored beyond words. Beth spent 12 years working for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a skilled professional who used sincere compassion and heart as a Licensed Practical Nurse providing the best quality care to adults with developmental disabilities. She is going to be so overwhelmingly missed by all who knew her, especially the men and women she provided care to.
Beth’s family, friends and co-workers wanted to do something in Beth’s memory to honor her. She truly always gave so much of herself that we want to raise the most meaningful amount of funds so that her son Jack can later pursue his college education in his dream profession of veterinary work. Just thinking of how happy this would make her melts my heart; she'd be so relieved to see us all come together to make sure Jack can have his dreams become a reality.
To those that knew Beth, fill those places of sadness with fond memories and smile remembering her for all that she was. To those who didn’t, we hope you feel moved by her legacy enough to help contribute to such a loving and more than deserving young man. And to her partner in crime and best friend and soul mate for over 30 years, Mike – we will always keep you in our thoughts and prayers that you find peace and comfort as you learn to live life in this new way.
Please donate. We want to make Beth’s memory shine as bright as she was! No amount is too little and please remember to click the share button. Beth was originally from Ireland – let's get this across the world and back again!!
