It is with unimaginable heartbreak that we share the tragic passing of Bernedine Spann, age 32, and her beloved 13-year-old daughter, Ja’Leah Spann.
While traveling together, Bernedine and her children were struck head-on by a suspected drunk driver who was driving the wrong way on the highway. As a result of this senseless tragedy, Bernedine and Ja’Leah lost their lives.
Bernedine leaves behind two sons. Her 7-year-old son, was badly injured and is currently hospitalized. He faces a long and difficult road to recovery that will include ongoing medical care, rehabilitation, and emotional healing. Her other son, who was not in the vehicle at the time of the accident, is also grieving the devastating loss of his mother and sister.
During this time of profound loss, we lean on our faith and trust in God’s comfort and strength. We are raising funds to help cover funeral expenses for Bernedine and Ja’Leah, as well as medical bills, continued care for her son, and support for the family as they navigate the days ahead. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help ease the financial burden and allow the family to focus on healing and caring for the children left behind.
If you are unable to donate, we kindly ask that you keep this family in your thoughts and prayers, and consider sharing this fundraiser.
Thank you for your compassion, generosity, and support during this devastating time.
