My name is Lisa Jackson and I am starting this GoFundMe for Kevin Norwood's partner, Barry Nadler, who unexpectedly passed away last Monday, May 15.

Kevin shared the following about Barry.

I have known Barry for over twenty years. He had a beautiful but troubled soul. After a series of unfortunate events, a combination of bi-polar illness, diabetes, and addiction claimed his life two weeks short of his 60th birthday.

We met over the phone while working at Metro Goldwyn Mayer Studios. I was on the Computer Helpdesk and Barry was the new temp working for an attorney that seemed like Murphy Brown – she couldn’t keep a temp. But there was something special about Barry – he was able to turn that job into a permanent position!

He had a gift for writing prose that his jobs as a legal assistant and contract administrator barely hinted at. I found a passage in one of his notebooks that reads, I always knew that I would die before I really had the chance to live.

Barry’s sister Gail and I are asking for assistance so that we can send his body from Los Angeles to New York so that he can be buried next to their mother Edith.
