Support for Barbara Jane Hansen Benden’s Final Journey

My name is Christine Hansen, and I am reaching out to share the story of my incredible grandmother, Barbara Jane Hansen Benden, and to humbly ask for your support during this difficult time as I raise funds to cover her services and final expenses.

Barbara Jane Hansen Benden was born on April 7, 1940, in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. She lived a life devoted to service, compassion, and family. For 25 years, she selflessly volunteered as a nurse with the Red Cross, helping countless individuals during times of need. Her kindness extended beyond people—she fostered and cared for cats for 20 years, providing love and shelter to animals in need until she was no longer able to care for them four years ago.

She was married to the love of her life, Sergeant First Class Jack Chris Hansen, for 52 wonderful years before his passing in 2009. Together, they built a family that included three sons: Richard W. Hansen, William L. Hansen, and Robert D. Hansen, who carry on her legacy of strength and compassion.

My grandmother touched the lives of so many with her warmth, generosity, and unwavering dedication to others. In honoring her memory, I am organizing this fundraiser to ensure she receives the farewell she deserves. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful impact in helping cover the costs of her services and final arrangements.
