In Loving Memory Of Baby Josiah

Hi Everyone. I have created this fundraiser on behalf of my cousin, Kaila Ponce. I wanted to share her story so that it is heard and so that we can help her investigate this tragedy.

On August 4th my cousin was expected to bring her son into the world, Josiah. As any mother, preparing to give birth you are full of excitement and anxious to meet your new addition to the family. However, only hours away before getting ready for delivery, the doctor had some very sad and upsetting news. 

On the day of delivery, my cousin was told that her son's heart stopped beating. This had been confirmed by two nurses and the doctor. They stated that the baby may have passed within 48 hours. My cousin and her  husband were heart broken. Honestly, there may be no words to express what they are experiencing. But what hurt most, is having to still deliver him into a world that he was no longer conscious in. 

Again, I have created this fundraiser so that we can help my cousin investigate the cause of her son's death. He was tested for COVID and the test came out negative. Josiah weighed 11lbs and 4oz.

When Kaila had gone for check-ups and had done blood work the doctors estimated that he weighed 7lbs ,15oz and stated that everything was okay. We believe that my cousin was possibly due a month  or so before. 

Hendrick Honda (my cousins place of employment) has been gracious enough to pay for an autopsy to be performed. Kaila and her husband want Honda to know how grateful they are and want to give a special thanks to all her Honda  family and the Managers Scott and Rob.  I believe they may be assisting with funeral costs as well but we are asking that others please help donate for other funeral and medical expenses. I understand that with everything going on in the world we are limited. But anything helps.

Also we ask her friends and family to PLEASE respect her privacy at this time.
