In Loving Memory of Avayia - Our Brave, Beautiful Light

It feels like time has completely stopped since our sweet Avayia left us a week ago. The days are unbearable, they don’t feel real, and nothing feels the same anymore. Our world is quieter, emptier, and forever changed without her. Her smile could brighten even the heaviest of days, and her eyes were so deep and full of light, wrapping everyone around her in a love we will never forget. Our hearts are forever broken.

The last seven months with Avayia at home were the greatest gift of our lives. Every moment we shared was precious. Whether it was watching her favorite Disney movies in rotation, taking a drive with Dad to listen to rave music and feel the wind on her face, or curling up in her favorite blanket on the couch, we lived in Avayia’s World and loved every moment. Loving her was everything, and now that she’s gone, a piece of our hearts is missing forever.

We are so proud of Avayia. For every single fight she faced, she showed us what it truly means to be strong. She battled challenges no one should ever have to, and yet she did it with courage and grace that inspired everyone around her. She is the strongest, bravest soul we will ever know. Thank you, Avayia, for showing us what it means to fight, to hold on, and to love with your whole heart.

Our sweet, strong girl will always be the greatest part of us. We will carry her spirit in everything we do to honor her name. She is forever our angel, our light, our brave, beautiful Avayia.

Avayia had a huge support system that was built during the years she spent in the care of her grandparents, Lynn and Gerardo. Their love and care were vital to her, and we are so thankful for the support she was given from her teachers, parapros, Mattawa Medical Clinic staff and church friends.

This is the second GoFundMe created for Avayia that will cover cremation and service costs. The first was started by her grandmother, Lynn Barajas, to help with the Celebration of Life and potluck in Mattawa at the Grace Church. That community of love and support continues to surround her, and it means the world to us.

Avayia’s viewing will be at Mueller’s Greenlee Funeral Home on September 10th from 4-8pm.

We’d love to invite everyone to both her viewing in Pasco and Celebration of Life in Mattawa.

Any contribution, no matter the size, will help us honor Avayia and carry on her love and light in everything we do.
