In Loving Memory of Aunt Sue: A Heart of Gold

My name is Jennifer and I am writing to ask for your help. It is really difficult to be in this position but I know that come what may God will provide. No manipulation whatsoever so before you decide I only ask that you please pray first and if God leads you to help, thank you and if he does not that you would read anyways and offer up a prayer for the family and remember this beautiful woman and her story.

Today 4/5/2024 at 2:00 pm our Aunt Sue went on to be with the Lord. Though our hearts are heavy, her passing at the age of 57 was way too soon. We could use any help you can give, even if it’s $1 and a share, nothing is too small.

Aunt Sue lived a life marked by simple joys, unwavering resilience, and an indomitable spirit that lifted us all, especially through the darker times that came with the loss of numerous siblings and caring for her family. Today, we’re asking for your help to give her the farewell that honors her memory with humble dignity, a gesture to honor her beautiful, complex life.

Aunt Sue’s existence was far from easy. Living on a tight budget from disability, she faced life’s hurdles without complaint, choosing instead to focus on the light she could bring to others. She wasn’t one for convention or societal norms but very humble means. Sue never complained about her lot but lived a life rich in love and care. Her home was filled not with material wealth but with treasures of the heart—memories, laughter, and the occasional knick-knack, cherished deeply, carrying stories from one home to the next.

Her struggles were many, from her health battles to her attempt to quit smoking. Yet, these battles were often fought in silence, overshadowed by her desire to be a beacon of laughter, joy and support for those she loved. Aunt Sue was the life of every family reunion, never letting her own challenges dampen her radiant smile or diminish the love she had for every single one.

Her faith, while personal, was a source of strength through her trials and the loss of loved ones, including her sister Patti. She couldn’t have children of her own but dedicated her entire life to honor her mother and care for Patti’s sons, Brian and Tommy, showing them the same love and dedication she offered to all her family. Despite differing opinions on how to live the good life, Aunt Sue sacrificed her own needs to care for all of them with all she had. Aunt Sue was universally loved—a testament to her kind soul and the joy she spread.

Aunt Sue’s life was a lesson in finding happiness in the smallest things and understanding the true value of family and resilience. As we plan her memorial, we face the reality of doing so without the financial means for even the most modest of services. This GoFundMe campaign is a call to those who knew her, loved her, and felt her warmth, to contribute towards giving Aunt Sue the dignity of being buried and not just forgotten.

Your support will help us celebrate a life that, though challenged by external circumstances, was immensely rich in love, laughter, and moments of pure kindness. Let’s honor Aunt Sue by coming together as a community, reflecting the unity and care she always fostered.

Thank you for considering a donation. Aunt Sue may not have had much in the way of possessions, but she was wealthy in ways that matter most. Let’s ensure her legacy of love and resilience is celebrated in a way she would have wanted: with warmth, a touch of humor, and an abundance of love.
