Those who had the privilege of knowing Ashley Avila knew her to be nothing short of sunshine. She was energetic, giving, fiercely loyal, and had an unwavering commitment to being there for those who needed her. Even in the deepest valleys of her own life, she always thought of others.

Ashley was a daughter, sister, and a hardworking single mother. Her two beautiful daughters, Laila (17) and Lia (14), are a perfect reflection of the woman Ashley was. They share her same compassion, grit, and determination and have always risen above their circumstances.

Ashley’s time with us was cut short on Monday, August 24, 2026 in her own home due to domestic violence. She was discovered that evening by her two daughters returning from school. In a matter of hours, these two young women were left without either of their parents.

While the road ahead for the girls and their family will be long and painful, we want to honor Ashley by remembering her for the love she gave and the values she stood by.

She devoted her entire life to her children.

No amount of financial support can replace what Laila and Lia have lost, but it can help provide them with stability as they navigate a future they never should have had to face without their parents. Donations will help support their immediate needs, education, living expenses, and the many challenges they will face as they rebuild their lives surrounded by family and loved ones. They will soon be in the permanent care of their grandmother, Ashley’s mother, Angel Apodaca.

Above all, we hope this fundraiser can give Laila and Lia the space to grieve, heal, and continue building their futures without the added burden of financial uncertainty.
