On the evening of October 18th, my mother, Araceli Cardenas (known lovingly as Sally) was admitted to the hospital after experiencing another stroke. For the past four years, my mom battled recurring strokes and the complications that came with them. Each time her body grew weaker, but her spirit never did. She fought with everything she had.
She spent her final weeks in the ICU, surrounded by her children and loved ones. We talked to her, held her hand, and reminded her of how deeply she was loved. On Friday, November 21st at 9:52 PM, our mom gained her wings. Even in her last moments, she showed the same strength and courage she carried throughout her life.
My mom fought far longer than any doctor ever expected. She pushed through pain, fear, and countless setbacks just to stay with us a little longer. That was who she was selfless, stubborn in the best way, and full of love. Losing her has left a hole in our family that can never be replaced.
As we try to navigate this heartbreaking reality, we are also faced with the financial responsibility of giving her the beautiful farewell she deserves. My siblings and I want to honor her life in a way that reflects the love, strength, and sacrifices she gave us every single day.
Any donation, no matter how big or small, will help us cover funeral and burial expenses during this incredibly difficult time. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page or keeping our family in your prayers means just as much.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story, and thank you for supporting us as we say goodbye to our beautiful mother, our fighter, our Sally.
