In Loving Memory of Anthony Rojo De Leon

On Friday 2/14/20 a little boy at the age of 3 years old was tragically taken from this world and from his loving family. At the time Anthony Rojo de Leon was enjoying life as a toddler with his family and spending time with them as they were selling Valentine’s flower arrangements for the public on US1 and just north of SW 304 ST in Homestead. Within an instant and without warning the lives of this entire family would change as an out of control vehicle traveling up US 1 crashed into the family and their stand tragically killing young Anthony. As a father myself of two precious kids, I could not imagine the pain and suffering of losing a child, let alone being there to witness this tragic event. As one of the first responders that arrived on scene to render care, I personally witnessed this horrific event. Through my career as a firefighter, I have witnessed many horrifying things, but I will tell you that there is nothing worse than seeing the loss of a young child and to have their parents on scene and on their knees in tears praying for their young child back. While there at the scene with Anthony’s father and seeing the agony on his face as he clinched ahold of me in tears over the loss of his boy, I felt a sense of helplessness. I immediately felt a sense of urgency to help the family. Although it may not be able to bring back a precious son to his loving parents, but I think it will allow a family to grieve without the untimely financial burden that we know burial and funeral arrangements of a loved one brings. I am humbly calling upon all that can help this family of Anthony Rojo De Leon with any financial contributions that would assist during this grieving process. I am grateful to have been placed in a position in attempt to help this loving family. I personally reached out to the family of Anthony and these are their heartfelt feeling towards this tragedy. Big things come in small packages and for me this was Anthony. He gave me a joy unknown to this world and he showed me that there’s no limit to the sky. For this, and other joyous reasons I adored my baby boy more than anything. As a family he always gave us a reason to smile. We all love him dearly and forever he will be kept in our hearts and memories.
