Recently on the 10th of December our family was devastated by the sudden loss of my mum Annette at only 65 years old. Her passing was completely unexpected, and we are still struggling to come to terms with life without her.

My mum was the heart of our family and a full-time carer for my disabled brother Vaughn. She dedicated her life to caring for him with endless love and patience. She always put others first before herself and gave so much to those around her and asked for very little in return.

Unfortunately, mum did not have any plans in place for her passing, and I am doing my best to navigate this. I am raising funds to help cover the costs of her Cremation, a small keepsake urn, her death certificate as well as a modest memorial service.

Mum did not leave any possessions of value except her car that we will be selling to directly contribute to the previous costs. Still, I want to honour her life and say goodbye in a way that reflects the incredible person she was, and so she can rest peacefully with our dad her soulmate in heaven.

I understand it is terrible timing being so close time to Christmas but any contribution no matter how small, would mean the world to us during this incredibly difficult time. Thank you for your kindness, support, and for helping us celebrate my mum’s life.

I intend to hold the memorial at the beginning of the New Year as I understand everyone is busy spending Christmas with loved ones. If this fundraiser is successful, the memorial will be in Geelong so that my brother Vaughn can attend more easily.
