In Loving Memory of Angela

On Monday, September 14th, our family lost someone we love very, very much. Angela passed away unexpectedly in her sleep at just 35 years old.

It is hard to find the right words for a loss that came so suddenly. There are no words that can really explain what it feels like to lose Angela, or to imagine life without her. But we want to do our best to tell the story of who she was—not just how she left us.

Angela was kind, spunky, funny, and completely herself. She had a big heart and a love for life that showed up in so many ways. She loved animals, she loved being outside, and she loved an adventure. Give her a camping trip, a fishing pole, some beautiful scenery, and the people she loved, and she was happy.

Her love for animals was a huge part of who she was. Angela spent many years working at Gresham Animal Hospital, doing something that came naturally to her. She cared deeply for animals, and anyone who knew her knew that this wasn't simply a job for her—it was something she truly loved.

Angela grew up in Gresham and attended Centennial High School. She made friends, made memories, and built a life surrounded by people who knew and loved her.

One of the many adventures that feels especially precious to remember now was the summer Angela and Shawn lived and worked at Glacier National Park. I was pregnant with Mason at the time, and we were lucky enough to visit them there. Angela was surrounded by the mountains, the outdoors, and the kind of beautiful place she loved. We didn't know then how much that memory would mean to us someday.

But more than anything, Angela loved being a mom.

Her daughters, Peyton, 12, and Piper, 6, were her whole heart. She loved those girls fiercely. They were her babies, her pride and joy, and such an important part of her world. There is nothing that can prepare a child for losing their mom, and our hearts ache for Peyton and Piper as they begin to navigate a life they never expected to have without her.

Angela was also a beloved daughter to Lori and Daryl Deblock, a sister to John Deblock, and an the best auntie. She leaves behind so many other family members, friends, coworkers, and people whose lives she touched along the way.

Her life was much too short, but it was full of love, laughter, animals, adventures, family, and memories.

Help Us Remember Angela

We are asking for help with the unexpected expenses that come with losing Angela and, most importantly, to help provide some stability and support for Peyton and Piper as they move forward without their mom.

If you are able to give, we are incredibly grateful. There is no amount too small. And if you're not in a position to donate, sharing this page means just as much. Every share helps surround Angela's girls and our family with love during a time when we need it more than we can say.

We would also love for this page to become a place where Angela's memory can live on.

If you knew Angela, please share a picture, a story, a funny memory, a camping or fishing adventure, a memory from high school, a story from her years at Gresham Animal Hospital, or even just a little moment you remember about her.

Please share the pictures and stories you have. We want Peyton and Piper to grow up knowing all of the different sides of their mom—the funny stories, the silly moments, the adventures, the people she loved, and all the lives she touched.

Someday, when they miss her and want to hear her laugh or remember what she was like, we hope they can come back here and see just how loved their mom was.

Angela, you were loved so deeply.

You were a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a friend, a coworker, an animal lover, an adventurer, and most importantly, a mom.

You left this world far too soon, but the love you gave and the memories you made will stay with us forever.

We love you, Angela. We will miss you always.
