I was already 7 months pregnant when we first found out about you. You were such an unexpected but amazing surprise for us! We knew there were a couple complications and it turned into a high-risk pregnancy. We were fully prepared to do whatever we needed to do for you. It was tough for the three of us on the day of your birth. They had to take you immediately. In the next few days, the doctors found a couple more complications that we wouldn’t have known before your birth. This included a very rare and lethal congenital anomaly named Tracheal Agenesis. Usually, babies with this diagnosis don’t make it past the first 48 hours but you gave us a whole week with you. We are so grateful that you let us spend this time with you and you kept fighting every day. We are also so grateful to the doctors and nurses over at Loma Linda University Children’s NICU who made sure you were okay the whole time. We could see the fight you were putting up with and how you were trying your best to stay with us. We got to hold you multiple times, thank you to the NICU team, and we had so much family supporting and surrounding us during your time here. Everyone got to meet you and you were so loved.
We knew your name well before you came into this world.

You were our little miracle and now you’re our little angel. Thank you for giving us the time you had here. You will forever be in our hearts and we will forever be your mom and dad. You taught us so much in such little time. You can relax now. We will take care of everything else.
