In loving memory of Andrew Farr

Mourning the loss of a friend is something most have to endure at least once in their lifetime. At times, you feel angry, you feel sad and you feel alone. You start to remember the good times with them and you remember the bad. You take a step back and realize that each of those times, good or bad, make up a memory with that person; memories that you wouldn’t change for absolutely anything. Then you try to figure out ways to take those memories and compile them into something absolutely grand.

Andrew Farr made a significant impact on my life over the 12 years that I knew him. We grew into adulthood together and shared stories with each other regarding the successes and struggles of life. Stories  about our independence, stories about love and stories about heartache. Stories that I will always remember him by. Andrew was a very lively and outgoing individual that had a contagious laugh and a spirit that you were naturally drawn to. When you met him, he left a lasting impression on your heart. Life without him in it seems unbearable but his memory will live on through his beautiful family, his amazing friends and his cat Kato.

Since Andrew was always finding ways to challenge himself intellectually within the business realm and loved learning, I decided to do something that would really embody his core values. In his memory, I am raising money for the Indiana University Kelley School of Business at Bloomington since Andrew loved and graduated from that school. Donating to their mission ensures that someone just like Andrew will have all of the same opportunities that he did. I am hoping that we can all come together so that when I donate all of the money to the Kelley School of Business in Andrew’s name, we can get “In Loving Memory of Andrew Farr” on a small gold plate or plaque. Then ask the school hang it in the hallway so when perspective business students read the writing, it will be Andrew’s name they read.

I am hopeful that we can surpass our goal and show Andrew’s family that his memorial will be something absolutely phenomenal! This memorial we create will be something we all did together!

We will never forget you, my dear friend. Until we meet again. Rest easy.
