I was Andrea’s assistant for the past 6 years and she was my mentor.

On February 24, 2022, our world changed forever. That was the day that our beloved and fearless leader, Andrea Rosales, tragically and suddenly suffered from a brain aneurysm, never to wake again.

 

Andrea was a dedicated educator with over 25 years of experience in early childhood education. Most recently, she served as the Executive Director of all three sites within the Mount Washington Preschool and Child Care Center family. As a tireless proponent of children's rights and equity, Andrea was constantly looking for ways to educate herself further to advocate for those without a voice and was in the process of obtaining her master's in Advocacy and Social Justice in Education in furtherance of that goal.

 

Though her time on this Earth was unexpectedly cut short, her legacy, passion for education, and deep sense of community live on and will continue through her daughter and all the lives that she has touched during her time as an educator.

 

We the Joy Picus Child Care team are asking for a contribution/donations to help support Andreas family in their time of need. We want ensure that Perris (her daughter) is financially secure during this time. Perris has given us the okay in terms of fundraising to assist her through monetary value.
