Wednesday night, our precious baby boy, Amir Zyaire McCain, passed away in a tragic accident. He was only 2 years old—full of life, joy, and a smile that could light up any room.

In a moment that changed our lives forever, Amir climbed onto a chair and reached the fireplace, where he got into medication from his mommy’s purse while she had stepped out to get dinner and dad, exhausted from working two jobs to provide, had dozed off. In that short window of time, the unimaginable happened.

There are no words strong enough to describe this pain. This family is now grieving the loss of their beautiful son Amir, after already enduring the heartbreaking loss of their son Dallas to cancer in 2019. No parent should have to carry this kind of pain—let alone twice.
