In loving memory of Amber Kiel

Donation protected
On Thursday, April 14th, my mother, Amber Kiel went into the hospital; she was awake and talking. I had the chance to speak with her and visited her again on Friday, April 15th. She was having problems breathing due to 2 collapsed lungs but could still communicate. The plan was to see her on Monday, with my sister Lizzie, in hopes to try and rebuild the bridge with our mom.

Saturday night into Easter morning, her breathing worsened, and sedation was necessary to increase her oxygen levels. She also underwent emergency surgery because parts of her small and large intestines were dead. During routine lab work, she had increased toxins in her blood. The blood was no longer "clean" and became acidic, causing all her organs to fail because her kidney and liver were not filtering the toxins in her bloodstream. Due to her organs failing, her blood pressure dropped to an extremely low level, so the doctors had to put her on 4 different medications to try and increase her blood pressure. In an effort to reverse the toxins in her blood she needed to start a 24-hour dialysis to clean the blood of the acidic acids.

In hopes that dialysis would work (Amber was a fighter), we went home to try and celebrate Easter with the children. But, soon after dialysis had begun, I received the call that her blood pressure had dropped to zero and her heart stopped, resuscitation was administered and successful. Still, her heart could not handle the stress her body was going through, and about 15 minutes later, her heart stopped again. At this time, I had to make the extremely difficult decision to try one more time and if she flatlined again to stop all extreme measures. When we arrived at the hospital, she had already passed, and thankfully her mother and boyfriend were there holding her hand when she went.

We went upstairs and waited for the doctors and nurses to clean her and remove some of the lines attached to her so we could say our last goodbyes. Unfortunately, our brother Alex did not get to say his goodbyes as he resides in Florida and is only 12 years old. My sister Lizzie and I called to tell him that our mother had passed, which was an extremely difficult conversation; how do you explain to your little brother that the mother he loves and adores will never hug him, will never be able to tell him she loves him, will never be able to explain why her choices led her here? To answer it, you don't! The 3 of us sat on the phone and just cried.

At this very unexpected time, we are asking for help to pay for her creamation; if you knew Amber, you knew she was terrified of Spiders so the thought of being buried underground with spiders was not an option. We are also hoping to raise enough money to help pay for Alex's plane fare to Ohio. If there are any remaining funds, they will go towards her memorial, funeral, or celebration of life.

Any donations are greatly appreciated and extremely helpful for our family to be able to greive this tragedy. My family appreciates anyone who provides assistance or prayers towards this unfortunate passing.

Amber Elizabeth Kiel born February 10, 1981, and passed Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022, at approximately 2:15pm, 41 years old may she rest in peace
