In Loving Memory of Alexander Labrador

On December 22nd, 2020, our Dad was taken to Kaiser Fontana for complaints of dyspnea and shortness of breath. He tested positive for COVID-19 a few days prior, and was worried that his symptoms were not getting any better. He was eventually admitted, placed on oxygen and started on antibiotics. We heard from his doctors daily regarding his progress, but unfortunately his condition rapidly declined. He was intubated 2 days into his hospitalization and was placed in ICU. We were eventually told that his lungs and kidneys were failing which required him to have dialysis and blood transfusions daily. Even with this news, we all remained hopeful and prayed. Although we were unable to visit him, we all FaceTimed him daily. We even welcomed 2021 by playing and singing along to 2 of his favorite song, "Don't Stop Believin'” and “Hey Jude.” We all hoped that speaking to him daily would encourage him to continue fighting. To our dismay, his condition continued to decline. 24 days later, we received a call from his doctor asking us to provide him a visit. His doctor stated his condition was critical and his prognosis was extremely poor. On January 15th, 2021, we all gathered at Kaiser. They had us stand individually outside of his ICU room for no more than 15 minutes at a time to see him.  We did not know that he was leaving us that day, but we got a call from his doctor shortly after our visits that he had passed. Until today, it all still feels like a bad dream...we couldn’t even be there to hold his hands.

He left behind his loving wife, Evangeline, his son Alvern and his wife Danielle, myself and my wife Jasmin, his grandson Anton, and his beloved puppies Polo, Cali and Jack, along with many close family members and friends.

Our Dad will forever be known as a dedicated and loving husband and father, and a wonderful brother, cousin, uncle, grandfather, co-worker and friend. His infectious laugh, sense of humor and love for life will never be forgotten.

As a close friend of his stated, "Alex was loved and cherished by all, and he is so missed. We celebrate his life of all the great times we had with him. Golf will never be the same without him." -Dr. Sadana

Our family is extremely thankful for the love, prayers and condolences. Our Dad’s viewing will take place in February (date is pending at this time). Unfortunately due to COVID, Forest Lawn is only allowing 10 of his close family members to attend a 10 minute viewing. Any online arrangements regarding his viewing will be announced.

Again, we are extremely grateful for all of the love and support everyone has given us, and we are eternally thankful for having such amazing family and friends through this challenging time.
