In Loving Memory of Aiden Van Balen

The community of Pierre, SD is heartbroken by the tragic loss of a remarkable young man. Aiden Van Balen, 16, beloved son of Dustin and Amanda Van Balen, passed away in an automobile accident on June 4, 2025.

Aiden had just completed his sophomore year at T.F. Riggs High School, where he stood out as a dedicated three-sport athlete. He was full of life and energy, excited for a summer filled with sports camps, time with friends, and fun on the Missouri River. Whether he was cruising around town on his moped or preparing his jet ski, Aiden embraced every moment with joy and enthusiasm.

Known for his fun-loving spirit, infectious goofiness, and undeniable talent, Aiden made an impression on everyone he met. But more than anything, he deeply loved his Dad, Mom, and Brother, Jakob. His absence leaves a hole in the hearts of many, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
