With our hearts completely shattered, we are coming together to honour the lives of our beloved friends, Abdulmalek Shibli and Afef Binafef, whose lives were taken far too soon. Ten years ago, both Malek and Afef came to Canada with their families, leaving behind everything they knew in search of safety, stability, and a brighter future. Malek arrived from Syria with his family of 11, while Afef came from Yemen with his family of 8. Over the past decade, they built a life in Canada, created unforgettable memories, formed meaningful friendships, and became loved members of their community. Their kindness, loyalty, humour, and the joy they brought to those around them will never be forgotten. Their sudden and tragic passing has left their families, friends, and everyone who knew them with an unimaginable pain and an emptiness that words cannot describe. We are asking for your support to help ease the financial burden on both families during this devastating time.
