Dear Family and Friends,

My name is Renee Sibonga and I am organizing this on behalf of Adelina Espejo Sibonga and our family.

We come to you with heavy hearts to rally support for Adelina and our family. On Sunday, March 31st, tragedy struck during Easter dinner in our home when my mother had a stroke followed by multiple seizures. Luckily our family was there to tend to her and emergency medical services arrived promptly and escorted her to the hospital. My mom was placed into a medically induced coma at the Neurointensive care unit at the University of Alberta Hospital.

On Monday, April 1st, we were faced with the unfortunate news that she had succumbed to significant, inoperable brain damage that would not allow her to support life on her own. That night she was taken off life support. The doctor and all the medical staff persistently assured us that she was not in any pain throughout the whole process and our family was beside her at all times.

Adelina Espejo Sibonga is a kindhearted and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, family member and friend. If you know my mom in any way, you know she is the brightest light in the room and has the kindest heart. If you did not have the pleasure of knowing my mom, I can sincerely say that throughout her life she has dedicated her time and effort to her family and loved ones. She has worked hard her whole life and deserves all the love everyone is giving her.

Since the loss of my mom comes at a very unexpected time, my family is extending a request for any financial help that may be given in order to give my mom the seeing off she deserves. My family has arranged this gofundme to aid in any financial dealings that come with memorializing my mom. Anything helps at this time and I extend my greatest gratitude for anyone that has helped (in any way) to this transition into paradise for my mom. We will continue on in her memory and ask for your prayers.
