In Loving Memory of Aaran Wang ~ Fundraiser

Donation protected
Dear colleagues of Aaran,

The battle with COVID-19 is a long an arduous one, and often with devastating results. Just shortly after midnight on Friday, March 05, 2021, I forever lost my dad, your colleague, Mr. Aaran Wang, to COVID-19. In his final hours, I asked the nurse to hold his hand and tell him that I love him. I hoped that he would have felt the little warmth or have heard the words of encouragement from my mom and me. We had hoped that he would recover and just wake up.

But miracles didn’t happen. I will never get to ride with him in his car again. He will never return to Ryder to repair trucks or tell funny math tricks. Dumplings will never taste the same because he will never make them again. My parents came to Canada as a pair, and now my mom has to return alone.

As you have worked for years with my dad, you know first-hand that he was a gentle and kind soul. He was hard-working and diligent for his team, just as he was sincere and helpful to friends. I thought I would only send my dad off when I become a little old lady myself. I never thought that he would be gone in just 6 months after my convocation. I’m too young, and so was he.

For all my dad’s life, he has worked to improve the lives of his family. He was going to celebrate my mom’s 60th birthday this March, and for the first time in all 29 years of marriage, they were going to go on a trip together in Canada just for themselves. These would have been beautiful memories, but they all evaporated as his life became forever frozen in time on March 5th.

I miss my dad deeply. If I could reverse time and give a part of my life to save his, I would have. It is difficult for me, but it is even more difficult for my mom. Due to a car accident, my mom has not been able to work for years. My dad was the foundation of our home, and now the foundation is gone. COVID-19 didn’t just rob my dad of his life; it robbed the lives of all of us, the lives that we could have had.

In the spirit of remembering the good times we have all had with my dad, I’m starting this fundraiser to help support my mom. I hope that one day I will be as strong as my dad to support her all by myself. But at the immediate present, every little bit would go a long way. Together, we will persevere.

 Sincerely,

Louisa Wang

Daughter of Zhongliang (Aaran) Wang.
