In Loving Memory: Pam & Terry Trought
Donation protected
I have known Ms. Pam for over 15 years. Our friendship started as her being a mentor when my daughters started girl scouts. She was always a strong leader of the Girl Scouts of Staten Island. This relationship deeply grew into family when my daughters began dance at Ms. Jenn's Studio, Inspirations in Dance. Whenever anyone was in need- whether it be for charity, school work, girl scouts etc., Ms. Pam was the first person to offer her help. She always gave everyone and everything her all. She was a second mother to all the girls in the programs she was involved in.
Everyone at Inspirations in Dance knew her late husband, Mr. Terry, as the "dance dad". Sadly, in July of 2021, he passed tragically from severe after effects/complications of COVID-19. This was a devastating loss to the family.
While still mourning his loss from Covid, months later Pam came down with Covid herself in the beginning of January and was hospitalized. A few days after being admitted she no longer could breathe on her own and had to be Intubated. She was so scared and before being intubated her last words to her daughter were “Am I going to die? I just don’t want to die.” Over the next 2 months She fought a long hard battle. She lived through critical times that doctors and nurses never expected her to get through. She even almost made it out of the hospital. Recently Pam was still intubated but was able to come off sedation and get a tracheotomy to aid her recovery. The plan was to go to rehab this week. Suddenly unexpected complications arose and she passed away on March 20th. We were so shocked since she made it so far. She leaves behind Miss Jen and her loving grandson, who both lived with her. With little time & no financial preparation for this tragic loss her daughter is left to go on and also take care of funeral expenses. She lost both of her parents within 8 months of each other. This is a Financial struggle even more so since Miss Jenn was forced to close down her dance studio recently due to the pandemic.
Ms. Pam was a strong leader in our community. She wore many hats. She started off as a girl scout leader when Miss Jenn was 5 years old and moved along to service unit manager. Later on she also became a coordinator for the Girl Scout religious awards. She then went on to devoting her life to helping her daughter with her dance studio and always bought Girl Scouts along with her. She ran community events and encouraged Miss Jenn to continue giving back through dance as well as Girl Scouts by volunteering their talent at nursing homes, breast cancer walks, Alzheimer’s walks, raising money for other charities and many many more. Miss Pam had the most giving heart and it’s time we give back to her.
I am asking anyone who knew/knows the family to please help Miss Jenn give her mother the proper wake, funeral, burial, head stone and bereavement. It would be so wonderful to have enough to cover all of this plus more to help Miss Jenn cover the other bills for health and living expenses she will be left with for herself and her small son until she gets back on her feet. If anyone deserves this help and a Beautiful farewell it’s Miss Pam. The entire Trought family has given so much to our community, let’s come together to help them as they have helped so many of us time and time again. Any and all help is deeply appreciated.
