In Loving Memory & Honor for Ricarda Ibanez

Hello, my name is Juanita Mercado.

My mother, Ricarda "Cala" Ibanez, for the past 5 years, has fought a long and hard battle against cancer. This journey during the last chapter of her life was not easy. From her initial diagnosis, there were many uncertainties about timelines and plans for her cancer. Though even with the chemo and treatments, she persisted with resilience. Refusing to allow the cancer to define her. She remained strong and set an example of how someone can still live life to the fullest. Even when the odds were stacked against you.

With heavy hearts, she passed away in the morning of April 4th, 2025. Preparing for the inevitable and experiencing it are two different things. We hoped for five more minutes to hear her voice. Now we plan to ensure her final resting spot is the best for a wonderful mother, grandmother, friend, and sister.
