In loving memories of my father, “Dara Mon”
On June 5th 2025, our loving father Dara Mon took his last breath. As we mourn his loss, we would like to share the honorable man he is. Our father first began his life in Cambodia. He served in the Army and spent his time kickboxing. They nicknamed him “Thunder Leg.” Unfortunately due to the Khmer Rouge, our father had to leave what he knew was home to come to the United States. As he was saved by the camp, he had to transition his life into a whole new world.
While raising his younger sister, speaking very little English, he worked as a jeweler and welder. During this time, he met our mother and you know how us children came.
Our father was a very hardworking man. He made it his duty to take care of us and as he did, he was able to live his American dream by opening up his very own business “D’s Tire Shop.” His caring heart helped anyone who came his way. When he was not in work mode, he spent most of his time with friends and family. Grandpa was a beautiful name he carried so whole heartedly.
This is a huge loss in our family. Our father has carried such an important role in our lives. He has taught us humbleness and strength. A true backbone and our hero.
Any donations made will be towards funeral cost and to his grieving wife. No amount is too little.
