Dear family, friends, and kind-hearted supporters/community,

It is with a heavy heart and deep sorrow as I write this. The loss, despair, brokenness, and void our sister Choua and her children are facing right now is beyond words can express. On March 7, 2025, just shy of their anniversary in April, Vue Xiong—the love of her life, her partner, and her friend of 22 years—took his last breath and passed. Vue Xiong, a son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend at age 41, leaves behind our sister Choua, and their four children Sufeng (22), Jayden (16), Lucas (7), and Evolette (6).

Vue Xiong, our brother-in law, had been battling health issues in the last five years and was diagnosed with stage 4 renal failure in 2023. With his inability to work and his life insurance policy expiring, they were unable to secure new coverage. Choua became the sole provider, taking on two jobs while continuing to care for Vue’s health and supporting their family. Their journey was filled with hardships, but Choua remained incredibly resilient, hiding her struggles from others. During Vue’s most recent hospitalization, Choua trusted that he would recover and return home, but tragically, Vue went into cardiac arrest multiple times and did not survive.

Vue was a die-hard Vikings fan, humorous, humble, and deeply devoted to his family and friends. Prior to his health issues, he loved the outdoors but also found comfort in being at home. He was a food enthusiast who dreamed of traveling the world to experience street food from different cultures. Vue’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy of love for food, family, and friends will never be forgotten.

Vue’s untimely passing has left his family with not only an emotional void, but also a heavy financial burden. All donations will help cover immediate expenses such as funeral costs, daily necessities, and provide long-term stability. Every contribution, no matter how small, will ease their financial strain and offer Choua and her children some support as they navigate through this devastating time.
