My name is Joni and Fred was my father-in-law. I am coming here to ask for financial contributions to help cover the cost of Fred’s funeral and Denise’s living expenses.
Help Us Honor the Life of Fred
On August 5th, our beloved Fred, who lived in Petit Valley, Trinidad and Tobago, was taken to the hospital after being sick at home for over a week with what he thought was the flu. He refused to go to the hospital until arrangements had been made for the care of his wife, Denise. We prayed and hoped for his recovery, but in the early hours of August 7th, he passed away from pneumonia.
Fred was a devoted husband, a proud father to his sons Victor and Dennis, doting grandfather to Alex, Blake, Elijah, and Adeline, and a cherished father-in-law and friend. His warmth, generosity, and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew him.
His sudden passing has been a heartbreaking loss for our family. With his sons living in the United States and Fred in Trinidad and Tobago, the distance has brought not only emotional challenges but also unexpected expenses as we work to be together and lay him to rest.
In addition to funeral expenses, we are also seeking some financial assistance to help cover Denise’s living costs in an assisted living home while we wait for the sale of their house. These combined costs have created a heavy burden during an already devastating time.
We are reaching out for help so Fred can be honored with the dignity he deserves in his home country and so Denise can remain safe and cared for during this transition. Any contribution—no matter the amount—will help ease the financial strain.
If you are unable to give financially, we ask that you keep our family in your prayers and share this page with others.
Thank you for your kindness, love, and support as we honor Fred’s life.
With gratitude,
The Lue Yat Family
