In Lieu of Wedding Gifts for Sarah & Walter

Hello family and friends! Our names are Ken and Sandy. For those who don't know us, we're Sarah's parents.

We are so excited to welcome Walter into our family. We can't wait for him to be able to join us in Canada so we can celebrate with all of our family and friends!

People have been asking if Sarah and Walter are registered anywhere for wedding gifts. In lieu of gifts, we are asking for your support.

The first year is a challenging one in all new marriages, but this will especially be true for Sarah and Walter; They will experience some big challenges as they begin their lives together. Sarah is spending the summer in Nashville but she will have to come home to Canada at the end of August without her new husband. Over the next year, they will be working alongside an immigration lawyer to get Walter into Canada, and there are significant fees related to that. We’ve set up a GoFundMe for people to donate money toward their legal costs. This is in lieu of wedding gifts or a bridal registry. If you want to support Sarah in her new marriage to Walter, please consider making a donation.

We know it’s going to be a long and onerous process, but we are thrilled that she’s finally reunited with “the one.” Their love story has been 15 years in the making, from Honduras to the United States, and now heading to Canada. They've overcome challenges and distance in the past, so we know that they will overcome this challenge as well.
