In lieu of flowers for Lucia Coronel

Lucia adored her daughters Isabel and Marina and had recently completed a spring break college trip to NYC with Isabel. Rarely has there been a conversation with Lucia that didn't include sharing the girl's latest activities and achievements - she was so proud of them.

Both girls will be interning at UCSF this summer and anticipate continuing a college path that leads them to med school to study fields in neurology and psychiatry.

Lucia came to the bay area for graduate studies at UC Berkeley in the late 1990s and had been working with the deYoung and Legion of Honor museums for over 20 years. Lucia passed away on May 24, ending a 15-year battle with cancer.
