In Honour of Olivia

A little bit about Olivia:

Olivia was undiagnosed & born with Spina Bifida. Olivia had spinal surgery in April 2021 when she was just 3 months old. Olivia has nerve damage which has caused no movement or sensation in one of her knee downwards, Olivia also has a neuropathic bladder & bowel, hip dysplasia (already operated on), & other medical needs. We don’t know what the future will hold for Olivia, we don’t know if she will walk unaided, but what we do know is she is such an inspiration to us all and we want to thank the people who have helped us in such a short amount of time. Alder Hey Hospital is where Olivia has 99% of her appointments & operations. Shine Charity is a special charity dedicated to people like Olivia & other needs that can be linked with Spina Bifida. They all provide amazing support, care & making sure families like Olivia’s get the best care for their children. 3-6 babies out of 100,000 babies are born with Lipomyelomeningocele (the form of Spina Bifida Olivia has). It develops within the first 4-6 weeks of early pregnancy. The cause is unknown. 

 

In honour of Olivia Howarth, we are holding a fundraiser on 1st May 2022 at Willow Valley Golf Club, to raise money which will be split 50/50 to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital & Shine Charity (all proceeds will go to the two charities, unfortunately this isn’t an entry event for others to join).

 

Sam, Mark, Ben & Rob will be taking on 3 full rounds of a full size golf course - in ONE DAY. Willow Valley Golf Club will be providing food & drink for the fundraiser to keep the lads going.
