In Honour of My Nanny E – Raising Funds for Lung Health
Hi, my name is Josh, and on Sunday, May 4th, I will be running the Belfast Marathon in tribute to my Nanny E—a true fighter, a warrior, and the heart of our family. This run is not just about crossing the finish line it’s about honouring her incredible strength and raising awareness for the British Lung Foundation, a cause that means so much to me and my family.
When my Nanny was diagnosed, doctors told her she might have only 2-5 years but she defied the odds and gave us 9 unforgettable years. She never let her illness define her. Instead, she filled our lives with laughter, love, and strength. Through every up and down, she was always there, lifting us up with her warmth and wisdom.
In the early hours of that morning, our rock, our guiding light, grew her wings. Though we lost her physically, her love and spirit remain with us always. I will forever cherish our wee chats, our laughs, and the unconditional love she showed to all of us.
This marathon is my way of saying thank you to her, to the incredible memories she left behind, and to the British Lung Foundation for their work in helping others facing lung disease.
Every donation, no matter the size, will help support vital research, treatment, and care for those battling lung conditions. If you can, please support this cause in honour of my Nanny E. Together, we can make a difference.
Thank you for your support. This one’s for you, Nanny. Until we meet again. ❤️
