In honor of Tony “Papa” Marion
It is with a very heavy heart we are raising funds to help the Marion family with any expenses in honor of Tony/Papa Marion. This man was Papa to many, Tony to others, Uncle and brother to some, Dad to few, husband to one, but loved by ALL.
Tony any Melissa were our neighbors for many years. Melissa, runs a at home daycare, which is how they became like family to us and many others. Our son and then our daughter have been pretty much raised by “Mimi and Papa”. These two are like extended grandparents to so many kids. They love them as much as we do, as if they were their own. Papa would drive the kids to and from school, take them out for treats, talk to them and give them life lessons, love them support them, play with them and sing and play his guitar for them. Our children are blessed to have known him and have him as a big part of their lives.
Last weekend, Tony/Papa began having difficulty breathing and was taken to the hospital where the doctors determined he has Covid pneumonia. For all that know Tony/Papa, he’s a fighter. He was on high flow oxygen and seemed to be doing well with his vital signs. Everyone was so hopeful and praying that he was going to fight this virus and get better. Unfortunately, due to the stroke Tony/Papa had 3 years ago, his body was getting weaker and although he is a mighty fighter, his body wan’t strong enough to fight the virus. Today Tony/Papa passed away. We are all heartbroken, not only for the loss of our dear Papa but for the Marion family and what they are enduring at this time.
There is so much going on right now outside of the loss of our loved one that makes things more difficult. Melisssa and her family need time to grieve and lay Papa to rest however they can. Melissa’s daycare has been closed since Papa became ill. We wanted to raise funds for the family to offset any expenses endured during his illness and after.
This family has helped raise our families and this is a small way we can help them during this most difficult time.
Papa would not want people to be sad, although we are, he would want us all to take care of each other and be strong for one another. He’d want us to take care of our family’s because family is first.
