In Honor of Terrie Oliver McCreight

Terrie Oliver McCreight, 63, of Charleston, SC, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022. She was born August 2, 1958, in Charleston, SC, to the late Willie Mena and Harry Leland Oliver, Sr. She was a 1976 graduate of Middleton High School and received her bachelor’s degree in English from the College of Charleston in 1981. Terrie possessed a servant’s heart and devoted her life to caring for people. She served others in a variety of ways, working as a picture framer, a teacher, a bookstore clerk, a nanny, and a caregiver for the elderly. She loved the Lord and was a member of First Christian Church for many years, where she participated in VBS and several other church ministries. Terrie was an avid reader and a crafter, and she loved spending time with her children and her grandson more than anything. She cherished her family, and worked hard to make each holiday and family gathering special. She is survived by her son, Brendan McCreight (Jordan); her daughter, Chelsea McCreight (Elias); her grandson, Liam McCreight; her sister, Tina Oliver; her brothers, George Betakas, Harry Oliver, Jr. (Barbara) and Kevin Oliver (Patty); and a host of other loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Steve Betakas.
