In honor of Sam and Connie Horton

If you are able to donate in honor of my deceased parents, I need temporary financial help to continue to fight my dad’s wrongful death suit, and while awaiting hopefully starting a new dream job. Unfortunately, the settlement offered in my dad’s wrongful death suit by the hospital is egregiously low and involves a gag order. My dad would be most concerned about justice and improving the care of others at the hospital. To honor his memory, I am never going to accept these low offers or gag provisions.

That said, I believe they are using the fact that I am temporarily financially strapped against me. As many of you realize, my dad’s death cost us the VA mortgage so I am out $100,000 for the down payment we would not have had to pay. The payments are also nearly twice under the conventional loan which includes mortgage insurance and was much higher rate.

Consequently, I am forced to sell my beautiful home, but will have to repair the gas line for its safety prior to sale as well as other issues which I have been unable to get addressed by warranty. To add insult to injury, my new car was involved in an accident driving to DC and may be a lemon. Because of insurance issues, I will need to pay for the rental car as well as a tow and inspection, until I can resolve the warranty issues and/or the claim.
