In Honor of Quilcene Resident Patty Baker
Donation protected
So many of us are saddened by the sudden loss of long-time Quilcene resident Patty Baker who, surrounded by her loving husband of 42 years, Charlie, and children Tom, Amalia, Daniel, and Emilie, passed away at her home on October 1, 2020, following a 9-month battle with cancer.
Patty was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, and sister. She enjoyed raising her family with her husband, being “Aunty Patty” to her nieces and nephews, and especially spending time with her seven grandchildren (and two on the way)! She had a great love for nature and all creatures great and small (as long as they had no more than four legs). Patty’s love of God and faith in Jesus was the cornerstone of the love, joy, and thoughtfulness that she shared with each and every person in her life.

The Baker family moved to Quilcene in 1989, where both Patty and Charlie worked at the Quilcene School District. Patty worked as a paraprofessional educator in special education with all ages of students. She was proud of her students and felt honored to be a part of the miraculous success in aiding every member of the QHS 2019 senior class to graduate before retiring at the end of the 2018-2019 school year, alongside her husband. Over the years, Patty also worked as a caregiver and house manager in several adult group homes through Port Townsend Community Options and was an active member of both the Quilcene Bible Church and the Sequim Bible Church. Patty's joy for life was contagious and simply hearing her laugh could immediately bring a smile to anyone's face. She will be greatly missed.
Please consider helping the Baker family. While we cannot take away her family's sorrow, we can help ease the burden of their numerous financial expenses. In addition to the medical and home-care costs, her children took leaves of absence from work in order to help their father care for Patty in the middle of the global pandemic and to see to it that her final days were spent surrounded by her greatest joys, her beloved grandchildren. Any and all donations will go directly to the Baker family to help with end of life, medical, and funeral costs, as well as the numerous travel expenses for her family.
Regardless of whether or what you can give, please keep Patty and the Baker family in your thoughts and prayers and feel free to leave a message or memory here. Remember Patty and smile. She will be dearly missed but will live on forever in our hearts and in all the beautiful memories.
