In Honor of Nestor Carrerou and his Love for his Children

With a heavy heart and with the guidance of our Lord Jesus, we are opening this Go Fund Me in honor of our beloved brother, Nestor Carrerou, in hopes of leaving a legacy for his children. These funds will help sprinkle his love from above

to them as they reach important milestones in life - such as graduation, birthdays, starting college and other important events.

Our brother Nestor left us to join our Lord at the age of 54 after battling a brave fight against cancer. Nestor was one unique, pretty cool guy! He was adventurous, energetic, funny, friendly, kind, creative, brave, persistent, super strong, super intelligent and an incredible handy man. He was a builder, a dreamer and doer, and he was a Big Giver! He shared his time and talents with those around him. If you needed help with something to do or build, he helped.

In his professional life, Nestor was an extremely innovative teacher for 27 years - teaching a variety of topics such as math, robotics and chess. Numerous times, he lead and traveled with The Rockway Middle School Chess Team where they reached National level recognition. He was so proud of that! He even taught students how to apply math and use their critical thinking on “hands-on” projects. One particular year, he lead a whole class to build an actual black box theatre with walls and everything for the school’s drama class. Many students learned life lessons through these activities.

In his personal life, Nestor was an amazing father and family man! He loved his family and he loved gatherings! He expressed his love to us with his time and all his hobbies. He had so many hobbies and talents that we probably don’t know them all or know how to call it. But he was our DJ music maker, the family astronomer, a pod caster, our family film maker and editor, an artist, a painter, a golfer and pickleball player, a math wizard, a lego and robotics builder, a grill master and animal lover. He was even his own general contractor and did everything in his house. He built his daughter a little club house with the help of her older brother in the backyard with real windows, roof top shingles and real a/c. His labor and time was his expression of love.

Thank you everyone for allowing us to share the life of our beloved, Nestor Carrerou. Any contribution is never small and greatly appreciated it. There is a saying it takes a village to raise a child.
