In Honor of Michael’s Legacy: Carrying his Love Forward

On behalf of Michael’s family, it is with heavy hearts that we share the unimaginable loss of a beloved son, brother, and friend. Michael was taken from us far too soon, in the blink of an eye, leaving behind a family who depended on his strength, his compassion, and his devotion.

As Marta’s only son, Michael was more than just her child, he was her protector, and her anchor. From a young age, he stepped into the role of “man of the house” with humility. He watched his mother endure cancer treatments with grace, raising him and his sister with love and without a single complaint. As soon as he was able, Michael made a quiet promise to himself, to repay her sacrifice by supporting her in every way he could. And he kept that promise.

Michael worked tirelessly to support his mother financially while she remained unemployed. He also supported her emotionally, offering her stability, comfort, and unconditional love. He was also a guiding light for his younger sister Liz while helping her through college and cheering her on every step of the way. He never hesitated to give what he had, even if it meant going without himself. If you needed him he’d give you the shirt off his back… or as many who knew him would say, the tire off his car.

This is our way of honoring Michael’s legacy, by continuing his mission of caring for the woman who meant everything to him. Marta has not only lost her son, but her greatest support, her safe place, and her provider.

Michael was a God-loving man, full of love, humility, and kindness. To know him was to be blessed by his presence. Let us now come together to carry on his spirit by helping ease the burden on Marta as she grieves the unimaginable.
